About the Program

Each artist will receive studio space during the length of the residency. A clay studio, photo lab, woodshop, printmaking studio, and fiber arts studio are available onsite to artists working in those mediums. Secure communal studios are provided to artists working in other mediums or disciplines. Housing is provided for residents outside of a 30 mile radius of Williamsport. Non-local artists are allotted private bedrooms with a shared bath and kitchen within easy walking distance of the Pajama Factory.

Additionally, artists will be given the opportunity to showcase and promote their work in a group exhibition at the end of the program.

Artists are responsible for the following costs:
– Food
– Travel
– Art supplies
– Miscellaneous expenses
– Security deposit (refunded post program barring no damages or excessive cleaning is required)

Outreach Component

For more than a decade, our community has embarked on a mission to make Williamsport an art destination in North-Central Pennsylvania. The Pajama Factory has been a part of that movement since 2007, becoming home to nearly 100 artists working in various mediums. As a result, we ask that each resident share an element of their process or craft with our local community. We want you to use your imagination to find a way to fulfill this outreach component in a way that’s comfortable to you and expresses your talents and strengths. The application asks for your ideas as part of the acceptance process, but we can offer suggestions that may be a good fit for your work and interests.
